Presiden'ts Message:

The San Antonio chapter of NAWIC is on FIRE!  Thanks to the unique membership contest led by Sandee Morgan, we already have 6 new members this year bringing us to a total of 44 members for the chapter.  Good thing, too, since we will be needing the extra manpower with all of the events that we’ve already planned for the upcoming months.

The Construct-a-Kids Christmas Gala is a collaboration of the industry associations efforts, including NAWIC, ABC, AGC, IEC, BXTX, HCA and many more.  This event is a fun-filled evening of dinner, dancing, gambling, silent & live auctions.  All of the proceeds go to benefit the disadvantaged foster children in the Bexar County System, to provide them with wonderful presents for the Christmas holiday.

Dawn Holmes has planned our December Christmas meeting to be a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at Dave & Busters on December 10 from 7pm – 10pm.  Many of our super sleuth detectives have already signed up to try to solve the mystery!  The game is afoot!

At our November general meeting we had two speakers educate our members on the Center for the Intrepid and the wonderful rehabilitation methods being used for our soldiers.  There was such an interest in the facility that they have now organized a tour of the building for our chapter to be held on December 12 from 11:15am to 1pm.

Mindy Rosito and Terri Pasley have organized a Wounded Warrior Drive.  We have “adopted” two special families whose military fathers were injured and are now unable to provide.  Our goal is to be able to raise enough donations to give each family a delicious Christmas dinner as well as new clothing and presents.

I am so excited and proud of this chapter and all that we are accomplishing.  The members never back down from a task, and they never feel that “enough is enough” they continue to give more and more of themselves.  With the Thanksgiving season upon us I can honestly say I am proud and thankful to be a part of such a tremendous and honorable organization and proud to know each and every one of the women in the San Antonio Chapter.
