The San Antonio Chapter of NAWIC chose to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, on April 4th.  We met early in the morning and took a chartered bus (courtesy of Dana Colonge & Alterman Electric) to the Alamodome.  This walk was especially important, as we lost long-time NAWIC member, mentor, & friend, Olga Barnett, in November to breast cancer.  It was overwhelming to see the large turnout from all across San Antonio, as well as see the women (and men!) who were breast cancer survivors, who took the time to come up and thank us for supporting the cause.  It was an extremely moving day that I don't think any of us are soon to forget.  I truly hope this will continue to be an annual community service event for our chapter - the cure is out there!
