General Business Meeting
Secretary’s Report
February 3, 2010
Call to Order
President Jennifer Swinney called the February 3, 2010 meeting of the San Antonio Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction to order at 6:18 pm at the Petroleum Club.
Introductions of members and guests took place.
Sandee Morgan welcomed new members (Sunny Bailey, Ginny Horrell, Nora Romero, Audra Tiemann, Leticia deLeon, Myrtie Austin, Helen Nelson, Gala Burns, Amy Ronek, Jamie Blakeslee, Cara Garrett, Michelle Urbanczyk, Isabel DeLuna, Andrea Wurzbach) and presented them with a red rose and NAWIC plaque.
Program
Katie Loiughmiller from the NAWIC Austin Chapter, NAWIC Education Foundation Region 7 Liaison gave a presentation on educational opportunities offered by NAWIC.
Meeting minutes
The meeting minutes for the November 2009 general meeting were approved as posted and will be filed as written.
Treasurer’s Report
The January Treasurer’s Report was approved by the board, and is available from Treasurer, Andrea Lopez.
Committee Reports:
Community Service – Terri Pasley reported on the Wounded Warrior families that our chapter sponsored and what a success if was.
Membership
- Sandee Morgan reported that we now have 88 members.
- New Member luncheon date is set for February 16th at 11 am,it will be held at the office of Engineering Safety Consultants, contact Sandee Morgan if you would like to attend.
- Isabel DeLuna was the winner of the monthly drawing for Members.
- Madeline Justice was the winner of the monthly drawing for bringing a guest.
Block Kids
· Will be at Larkspur Elementary School / February 12th 9 am – 1 pm / 16 children will participate.
· Roster Books are being updated. Still need photos & write ups
· Scholarship:
o Raffle Tickets on sale!, Drawing date TBD, latest date will be Industry Appreciation Night.
· Chair Raffle Tickets are also on Sale!
o Only 150 tickets available at $10 per ticket, See Dawn Holmes.
· Safety Committee – Kim C
o Safety Tip – Heart Safety
o Safety Award
· Golf Tournament
o April 30th, to be held at Canyon Springs.
o Early “Birdie” Special through March 15th $100 per player, after that date @ $125. Per player
o Drawing for Liquor donation winner: Jenni Horrell
· Forum – Registration Forms are now available

o Register by Feb 15th for Forum Test date
o Register by Mar 15th by May testing

· WIC Week
o Dinner/Movie – March 7 - 13
o Jobsite Tour – 35 people, tour Orion Ft Sam Project – Building 2266 / 2264, Orion will provide lunch for attendees.
o Membership Mixer – March 13
o Check out the Feb Newsletter for a special contest!
o President, Jennifer Swinney handed out gift bags to all members with NAWIC items for WIC Week.

New Business
· ABC Contractor in a Box Event – Success! Numerous members attended, and many potential new members gained.
· ASA Salsa Event – February 25th, see newsletter for info.
· Standing Rules revision – in circulation/website. Will vote next month.

Winner of the split pot was Ginny Horrell. Amount to winner $126.
With no further business or announcement, the General Meeting was adjourned at 8:24 pm.
