This year the Region 7 Forum was held in Frisco, Texas, hosted by the Dallas Chapter. The  weekend began on Friday with an informative behind-the-scenes zoo tour, led by Tammy Crooks (Dallas Chapter) with MetalMan Designs. Saturday was the business meeting & committee awards, where our chapter earned numerous accolades for tremendous work throughout the year.

SAFETY & HEALTH: This year the National Safety & Health Committee created a Regional Contest for companies who promote safety awareness. There were 8 applicants from our Region, 5 of those being from SanAntonio, and I'm proud to say that the winner was San Antonio company, Martin Marietta Materials, submitted by Rhonda Steves-Jung.

BLOCK KIDS:We were very proud of our Block Kids contest this year, and I'm excited to announce that our chapter's entry, created by Oscar Salas, won 3 place in the Regional Competition!

MEMBERSHIP: Our chapter achieved 88% retention this year, losing only 10 members to the declining economy. In addition, with 35 new members so far this year, we are the chapter with the largest number of new members in the Nation! The following chapter members received certificates for recruiting a new member this year.

NEF: As you know education is extremely important to NAWIC, and our San Antonio chapter has strived to encourage personal education amongst our members. The following members were awarded a “shining star” medal for stepping out of their comfort zone and attempting one of the NEF exams this year – pass or fail, they were successful because they tried!
